Even though kicking gays out of the military is now against the law, An Oklahoma lawmaker is trying to enforce DADT on a state level.  House Bill 2195 will bring Don’t Ask Don’t Tell to the state’s National Guard. The Bill is being introduced by State Rep. Mike Reynolds (R) who claims the Guard and troops have asked for it to be done:
“The main thing it will do is greatly encourage the morale of troops,” Reynolds said. “They have certainly contacted me and said ‘Hey we need this policy back.’” “It doesn’t say if you are gay you can’t join the military, if you are gay you can’t be in the military, what it says is don’t go out there and promote it,”
The senator claims the bill mirrors the Fedreal DADT policy that was abolished last year. He claims that it worked for 16 years and there was no reason to remove it.
“nobody except a couple of radical activists found any harm in the policy.”
Opponents of the measure say the bill Reynolds introduced goes beyond the federal DADT policy because it gives the military the right to question the sexuality of enlisted servicemen therefore making the “Don’t Ask” part moot. Because of his insensitivity to the LGBT community Reynolds has earned the “Douchbag Of The Day” award from IZZOZ.com.
